 NAF GETS FIRST-EVER SERVING PROFESSOR, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO R&D AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE In a landmark achievement for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and a major boost to its research and development (R&D) endeavours, the Governing Council of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), has approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Osichinaka Chiedu Ubadike as Professor of Aerospace Engineering. This makes him the first-ever serving officer in the NAF to be conferred the rank of Professor. Air Vice Marshal Ubadike, an accomplished scholar and military professional, holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Vehicle Design from the esteemed Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. He also possesses 3 other Masters degrees from Ahmadu Bello University and Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), with a First-Class Bachelor of Electrical Electronics Engineering degree from NDA.  Independence Celebration:  Olukoyede Charges Nigerians on Renewed Commitment in Fight against Corruption

 

As Nigerians are basking in the euphoria of the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary,  Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  Mr. Ola Olukoyede has called for more commitment to  the fight against economic and financial crimes and other acts of corruption in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


He made the call in Abuja on Tuesday,  October 1,  2024  in an Independence Anniversary Message to Nigerians.  


According to him,  the EFCC is more resolute in its drive to make Nigeria corruption-free and charges every Nigerian to collaborate more  with the Commission in pursuit of reform, progress and enduring development.


“At the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  we are resolute in our fight against corruption in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.  As we celebrate our 64th INDEPENDENCE,  let us forge ahead in pursuit of reform,  progress and enduring development”, he said.


He expressed optimism that Nigeria can get better, rule the world and conquer corruption through enhanced commitment, passion and drives of every Nigerian.  “We can make Nigeria greater.  We can rule the world.  We can conquer corruption!”, he said.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
