 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail.  Kaduna PDP Dismisses Election Boycott Claims, Urges Members To Vote


The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kaduna State has strongly refuted rumours asking party faithful to boycott today’s council elections in the 23 local government areas of the state.


The state chairman of the party, Edward Masha, said this in an interview with newsmen in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area, noting that the call for a boycott was neither made nor endorsed by his office.


He said, “while PDP agents at the SIECOM office in Kaduna were inspecting sensitive materials before distribution, it was noticed that one of the most sensitive materials, the result sheets, was not included, which was an anomaly.”


He further disclosed that two weeks ago, he had raised the alarm over plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to manipulate the elections by sneaking in a clause into the SIECOM election guidelines that would alter the process of announcing election results.


Masha insisted that the PDP would insist until all sensitive materials are included to ensure a level playing ground.


The PDP state chairman said the display of electoral fraud by the ruling party indicated that democracy is under attack in the state.


Masha then called on all members of the PDP to come out en masse to exercise their franchise and avoid any acts that could breach the peace in all the local government areas in the state.
