El-Rufai’s Eye Condition Worsening In ICPC Custody, Aide Alleges The media aide to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Muyiwa Adekeye, has expressed concern over what he described as the worsening eye condition of his principal while in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).  Madagascar Seeks Return of Scattered Islands From France

The Scattered Islands are located in the western Indian Ocean. They were once part of Madagascar and, like the larger island itself, later came under French protectorate.

The Scattered Islands are Malagasy, declared Andry Rajoelina, President of Madagascar, earlier this week, noting that sovereignty issue is still a contentious point between Madagascar and France, according to Sputnik.

"We desire restitution [of the Scattered Islands], but within a collaborative framework. We must carefully consider the means and methods to do this," said Andry Rajoelina, citing the recent UK recognition of Mauritius' sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago as an example.

After Madagascar gained independence in 1960, Paris did not relinquish control of these territories, despite the UN General Assembly's 1979 proclamation recognizing Madagascar's claim to the islands.
