 Independent Broadcast Association of Nigeria (IBAN) has called on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to retract remarks he made about Channels TV host Seun Okinbaloye and issue a public apology. The association, which represents independent broadcast stations in Nigeria, warned it could boycott all media engagements involving the minister if he fails to comply. In a statement signed by IBAN chairman Ahmed Ramalan and acting general secretary Fidelis Duker, the group expressed concern over comments Wike made during a live television interview. During the media chat, the minister reacted to Okinbaloye’s analysis on democracy, saying: “If there was any way to break the screen, I would have shot him.” Although Wike later clarified that the comment was not meant literally, IBAN said such statements are inappropriate for a public official.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
