 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  President Paul Biya returns to Cameroon after death rumours


President Paul Biya of Cameroon on Monday returned to the country amid rumours of his death.

Biya arrived at Yaounde’s international airport, the Cameroonian capital.

The 91-year-old appeared on state broadcaster CRTV after the presidential plane landed, shaking hands with officials next to his wife Chantal, as a jubilant crowd waited to greet him.

A few weeks ago, questions were raised over Biya’s health and whereabouts following his disappearance from public view.

Biya’s whereabouts were unknown after attending the China-Africa summit in Beijing at the beginning of September.

“Today the president is on his way and this will put an end to all the speculation,” declared a CRTV presenter.

“Welcome home, Mr President of the Republic,” said one billboard with a portrait of Biya on a blue background.
