The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has voiced deep sorrow over the recent wave of terrifying attacks by terror groups on defenseless communities in Plateau State, which claimed numerous lives, including those of children, in a tragic escalation of violence. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the ACF called on the Federal Government to fulfill its constitutional duty to safeguard the lives and property of Nigerians. The forum stressed the urgent need to halt the recurring attacks and killings not only in Plateau State but also across the Northern region and other parts of the country. The ACF urged the government to declare a state of security emergency in vulnerable, banditry-plagued areas and to implement robust early-warning and early-response mechanisms, involving local community members to prevent further bloodshed.  Religion has blinded Nigerians ā€“ VeryDarkMan reacts to Pastor Adeboyeā€™s apology

Social media activist, Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan on Friday said religion has ā€œblinded and finishedā€ Nigerians and Africans.

VeryDarkMan was reacting to the apology by Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.

The cleric apologized for his earlier claim that Christians that are not paying tithe wonā€™t make heaven.

Pastor Adeboye had previously claimed that paying tithe was one of the prerequisites for going to heaven.

But addressing his members, the clergyman apologized for the comment which he described as a ā€œmistakeā€, stressing that the Holy Bible never said such.

He emphasised that the Bible says peaceful and holy living are the prerequisites for making heaven.

Reacting via his Instagram post, VeryDarkMan said: ā€œIā€™m happy about what Papa Adeboye revealed so Iā€™m waiting for all those pastors like David Ibieyomie that preach about giving tithe.

ā€œThe number one man of all the religious people in Nigeria has come out to apologize that heā€™s sorry for saying if you donā€™t pay tithe you wonā€™t make heaven; that itā€™s not in the Bible.

ā€œWhich other things have they told us is not in the Bible? Thatā€™s what Iā€™m concerned about; how many things have they manipulated that is not in the Bible? Iā€™m glad that Papa Adeboye came out to say these things, so imagine the ones that would come out to apologise and have manipulated the people, they have twisted the right words of the Bible to suit their own narratives.

ā€œReligion has blinded and finished us in Africa and I will keep talking about how messed up religion has made us, carry your Bible. Iā€™m waiting for those who will come tomorrow and say prayers wonā€™t move Nigeria forward. I hope God will touch papa and the tithe collected will be used to touch the people of the country by creating jobs for millions.ā€
