 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school. RULE OF LAW: POLICE PROSECUTES HON. ALEXANDER MASCOT IKWECHEGH FOR ASSAULT


As IGP Reaffirms Commitment to Upholding Law and Order


In response to a case of assault on a bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, by Hon. Alexander Ikwechegh, on the night of October 27 2024, the  Nigeria Police Force Special Investigation Unit and the Legal Section have concluded investigations into the case and today arraigned Hon. Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh on the charges of “Abuse of Office, Criminal Intimidation and Criminal Force and Assault Contrary to Sections 397(b) and 265 of the Penal Code Act at the Kuje Magistrate Court. 


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., had ordered a proper investigation into the matter to ensure that justice is served and promoting human respect and dignity in Nigeria. 


The IGP hereby reaffirms the Force's commitment to upholding the rule of law, reassuring members of the public that the Force remains dedicated towards ensuring all fundamental steps are taken towards assuring justice always as no one is above the law.
