 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  Senate moves to establish University of Agriculture in Osun


The Senate on Wednesday, October 2, passed for first and second reading a Bill which seeks to establish a Federal University of Agriculture and Tropical Studies in Iragbiji, Osun State.

The Bill titled: “A Bill for an Act to establish the Federal University of Agriculture and Tropical Studies, Iragbiji, Osun State and to make comprehensive provisions for its due management and administration and for related matters, 2024” was sponsored by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC – Ekiti Central).

After Bamidele presented his lead debate, Senator Olarere Oyewunmi seconded the Bill.

Other senators who supported the Bill included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Senator Solomon Adeola, among others.

Senators approved that the bill be read for first and second time when Senate President Godswill Akpabio put the request to voice vote.

The Bill was referred to the Senate Committees on Agriculture and Tertiary Education and TETFUND for for legislative work and to report back to plenary in two weeks.
