 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. TINUBU APPOINTS FOUR MINISTER FROM OGUN. (PHOTO).


 Tinubu appoints four ministers from Ogun


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Jumoke Oduwole to head the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, marking her the fourth minister from Ogun State in his cabinet.


Daily Trust reports that it is uncommon to have more than two ministers from one state in the federal cabinet.


During the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, Tinubu announced the appointment of seven new ministers.


The new ministers include Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Jumoke Oduwole, ex-Executive Secretary to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.


Others are Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Ministry of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State Education.


Sunday Dare, a former Minister of Sports, has been appointed Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.


The president also relieved five ministers from their positions.


With Oduwole’s appointment, Ogun State now boasts four ministers in the federal cabinet: Adekunle Salako (Minister of State for Environment); Bosun Tijani (Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy); and Wale Edun (Minister of Finance).
