Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  Tinubu appoints four ministers from Ogun


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Jumoke Oduwole to head the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, marking her the fourth minister from Ogun State in his cabinet.


Daily Trust reports that it is uncommon to have more than two ministers from one state in the federal cabinet.


During the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, Tinubu announced the appointment of seven new ministers.


The new ministers include Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Jumoke Oduwole, ex-Executive Secretary to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.


Others are Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Ministry of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State Education.


Sunday Dare, a former Minister of Sports, has been appointed Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.


The president also relieved five ministers from their positions.


With Oduwole’s appointment, Ogun State now boasts four ministers in the federal cabinet: Adekunle Salako (Minister of State for Environment); Bosun Tijani (Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy); and Wale Edun (Minister of Finance).
