 Dangote Refinery To Supply 60 Million Litres Of Petrol Weekly To IPMAN To Boost Crude Imports The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reached an agreement to supply 60 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on a weekly basis, which translates to 240 million litres per month. This comes as the $20bn Lekki-based refinery seeks to raise billions of dollars to import crude oil and increase production to reach its full capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. IPMAN National Publicity Secretary, Chinedu Ukadike, confirmed that the association is finalizing discussions with Dangote and expects to start lifting PMS from the refinery before the end of November. The agreement has already led to a drop in petrol prices by N10 to N15 due to increased competition in the downstream sector following deregulation.  Jigawa Governor Suspends Commissioner Nabbed With Married Woman


Governor Umar A. Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the immediate suspension of Auwalu Dalladi Sankara as Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Special Duties and member of the State Executive Council pending an investigation into allegations made by the Kano State Hisbah.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State Malam Bala Ibrahim


He said the decision was in light of recent claims that necessitate a thorough examination to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the State Administration.


The SSG emphasized the commitment to accountability and adherence to ethical standards in governance by Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi.

“The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation,” said the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim.

“We take all allegations seriously and are dedicated to upholding the trust of Jigawa citizens in the government.”

On Friday, the Kano Hisbah Board confirmed the arrest and detention of Sankaraa, saying he would be charged to court, on Monday.


According to Hisbah Director General, Abba Sufi, the commissioner was found with Tasleem Baba Nabegu, who is married with two kids.

“Yes, it is true we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him.

“Unknown to him, we were tracking him based on reports we received against him,” the Hisbah Director General said.

The arrest followed a complaint by Nasiru Bulama, the woman’s husband, who accused the commissioner of engaging in an  affair with his wife.

“Nasiru Bulama filed the complaint with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board, alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife,” the official added.


He said: “We have been having problems with Sankara because he is operating illicit drugs Centers in the names of hotels with prostitution and drug addiction activities”.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
