  The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Rivers State Police Command, demanding a public apology for the assault on five journalists during a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt. Failure to comply, the union warned, would result in a statewide media blackout. In a statement jointly signed by Council Chairman Comrade Paul Bazia and Secretary Dr. Ijeoma Tubosia, the NUJ condemned the police actions as “unprovoked, barbaric, and inhuman,” calling for the immediate identification and prosecution of the officers involved. “The NUJ, as a watchdog of society, will not sit idly by while media practitioners are subjected to barbarism and brutality. Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw recently made a post, showing off her outfit which embodied the colors of the Nigerian flag, and she looked amazing in it, but a certain online critic was more concerned about something else.


The critic in question started off by complimenting Kate Henshaw’s outfit, right before she proceeded to make a list of all the problems that Nigeria has as a country.


Going forward, the critic stated that collectively as a people, Nigerians need to fight against injustice, underdevelopment, and a host of other issues, thereby insinuating that Kate Henshaw should do same.


Kate Henshaw’s response to this criticism was brief and straight to the point. The stunning actress started off by saying that the critic’s comment makes her wonder if she is the cause of Nigeria’s problems. She went on to say that she has no desire to tell her what her contribution to society is.


Additionally, Kate Henshaw said that the critic should take note of the rulers in Nigeria, who are yet to carry out their job descriptions.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
