A SHOCKING INCIDENT OCCURRED IN BAGALKOT, KARNATAKA,WHERE A WOMAN SUFFERED CRITICAL INJURIES AFTER A HAIR DRYER EXPLODED.(PHOTO).

A shocking incident occurred in Bagalkot, Karnataka, where a woman suffered critical injuries after a hair dryer exploded.

The victim, Basamma Yaranal, lost both her forearms and sustained severe injuries to her fingers. Basamma, the widow of late soldier Papanna, had been asked by her neighbor to demonstrate the device when the explosion took place, leaving her in critical condition.

The hair dryer was part of a parcel addressed to Shashikala, another widow of a deceased soldier, who was out of town at the time. Basamma had collected and opened the package on Shashikala’s behalf. As soon as the hair dryer was plugged in, it exploded, causing significant injuries. Basamma was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Ilkal for treatment.

A case has been registered at Ilkal Police Station, and investigations are underway to determine how the incident happened. Shashikala initially claimed to have purchased the hair dryer but later denied ordering it, raising suspicions about the sender’s identity. The police are investigating the source of the parcel, the payment details, and whether there was any foul play involved.

According to Bagalkot SP Amarnath Reddy, the hair dryer was a Chinese-made Kemey model, shipped from Visakhapatnam. The electrical inspector noted that incorrect voltage and failure to follow the user manual may have caused the explosion. Police are also questioning the courier company as part of the ongoing investigation to uncover the full details of the case.
