BRAKE FAILURE CITED AS CAUSE OF ACCIDENT INVOLVING SECURITY OFFICERS IN ABIA- FRSC. (PHOTO).

  The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Abia State Command, Ngozi Ezeoma, has confirmed the death of one security personnel in a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on 30th March, 2025, involving a vehicle from the joint task force of Operation Crush, at Isieke along the Umuahia-Bende road. According to Ezeoma in a statement, the accident was caused by brake failure. The vehicle veered off the road and fell into a ditch, leaving eight officers with varying degrees of injury. The injured officers were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia by the Police before the arrival of the FRSC. Unfortunately, the deceased officer was taken to the mortuary. The wreckage of the patrol van has since been recovered from the ditch.

 Akwa Ibom declares Friday work-free day to honour late First Lady


The Akwa Ibom State Government has declared Friday, November 29, 2024, a work-free day in honour of the late First Lady, Patience Eno.


A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah, in Uyo, the state capital, on Wednesday, noted that the decision is to enable Akwa Ibomites and other well-wishers to pay their last respects to the departed First Lady.


ā€œFurther to the final home-going programme of our departed First Lady, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government, in consultation with the bereaved family, has declared Friday, November 29, 2024, a work-free day in honour of our dear mother,ā€ the statement read.


ā€œThis is to enable Akwa-Ibomites to pay their last respect to our mother at her obsequies in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsik Ubuim Local Government Area of the state on that day.


ā€œMay the gentle soul of our departed First Lady find repose in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.ā€
