  Abakaliki, Ebonyi State - In a shocking move, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has ordered the arrest of six commissioners and the suspension of the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Mr. Timothy Nwachi, over alleged involvement in a breach of contract for the construction of 140 housing units for Izzo and Amaze communities. The affected commissioners, who were declared wanted by the state government before their arrest, are: - Professor Omari Omaka (Tertiary Education) - Victor Chukwu (Environment) - Ifeanyi Ogbuewu (Culture and Tourism) - Uchenna Igwe (Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters) - Moses Ekuma (Health) - Felix Igboke (Project Monitoring) According to the Chairman of the State Executive Council Committee on Izzo and Amaze Housing Project, Ilang Donatus, the governor took the action due to the slow pace of work on the project, which was intended to be completed in time for his two-year anniversary in office.  Bauchi Hisbah arrests elderly man who posted photos of multiple women he “dated for pleasure” 


The Bauchi State Hisbah Board has arrested an elderly man for posting multiple photos of his ex-girlfriends.  


The man identified as Alhaji Bala Mohammed, from the Dass local government area of Bauchi State trended recently after the photos of him together with over 50 women, many of them in compromising positions, went viral. 


It was gathered that Bala was arrested after some of his former girlfriends who are now married, reported him to the board.


Mohammed, however, said he has regretted hurting Muslims in northern Nigeria who might have found his lifestyle despicable.


Speaking at the Bauchi Hisbah Board office, Mohammed said he was enjoying his life and no one has the right to stop him, since the country is a secular state. 


He disclosed that some of the pictures were taken 20 years ago when he was enjoying his leisure time, and it was his Facebook friends that shared the old memory recently.


“I took some pictures 20 years ago with the women I dated for pleasure and to express my enjoyment. So, some people now discovered the pictures and began to reshare them, a situation that caused discomfort to the women in the pictures,” said Bala


According to him, he shared the pictures years back but none of the women complained until now, saying “Maybe it is some people who are instigating them.”


“I’m extending my apologies to the women who were offended but everyone has his own way of life. I did it because of pleasure and I’m living a secular life not a religious one,” he said.


Bala, who dismissed claims that the women were married when they dated, insisted that none of them was married and dared them to prove him wrong, maintaining that he has no remorse over what happened.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
