  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. Nigerian singer and songwriter Dare Art Alade, known as Darey and his beautiful wife, Desola Alade, are celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary today, the 30th of November 2024.


The couple shared beautiful videos and photos of their love memories via a joint Instagram post.


Deola celebrated their 18th year of love, lessons and growth. She noted that their year of being together was filled with mixed emotions, such as laughter, tears, joy and everything.


Speaking on the imperfections of love, the couple stated that their imperfections make it beautiful and enjoyable.


They noted that marriage is filled with many ups and downs, including seasons of tears and happiness.


They spoke about how the new milestone in their marriage reminded them of what real love is all about.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
