 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. FORMER UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO PROFESSOR'S KILLER SENTENCED TO THREE LIFE TERMS BY POLOKWANE HIGH COURT. (PHOTO).

 Emmanuel Charles Mbokota, a 33-year-old man, has been sentenced to three life terms for a string of heinous crimes in South Africa. He was found guilty of murdering former University of Limpopo professor Mohamed Saber Tayob, 53, in Sterkpark, Polokwane, on March 13, 2022.


In another incident, Mbokota shot and killed Malatji Putana Lucas, 33, in Mabocha village, Tubatse, on April 1, 2022. Lucas was building a house for Mbokota at the time.


Additionally, Mbokota was convicted of shooting and killing Luvhimbi Edward Muofhe, 57, at a BMW dealership in Nirvana, Polokwane, on April 4, 2022. He had demanded the keys to a grey BMW X6 and assaulted employees during the incident.


Mbokota’s crimes were investigated by Sergeant Florence Concilia Tlhatlha of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, leading to his arrest and subsequent sentencing
