 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo). FORMER UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO PROFESSOR'S KILLER SENTENCED TO THREE LIFE TERMS BY POLOKWANE HIGH COURT. (PHOTO).

 Emmanuel Charles Mbokota, a 33-year-old man, has been sentenced to three life terms for a string of heinous crimes in South Africa. He was found guilty of murdering former University of Limpopo professor Mohamed Saber Tayob, 53, in Sterkpark, Polokwane, on March 13, 2022.


In another incident, Mbokota shot and killed Malatji Putana Lucas, 33, in Mabocha village, Tubatse, on April 1, 2022. Lucas was building a house for Mbokota at the time.


Additionally, Mbokota was convicted of shooting and killing Luvhimbi Edward Muofhe, 57, at a BMW dealership in Nirvana, Polokwane, on April 4, 2022. He had demanded the keys to a grey BMW X6 and assaulted employees during the incident.


Mbokota’s crimes were investigated by Sergeant Florence Concilia Tlhatlha of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, leading to his arrest and subsequent sentencing
