 WATER AID NIGERIA RENOVATES ODO-NLA PHC, INSTALLS 12,000 LITRE WATER PLANT, WASH MAINTENANCE KITS  The Odo-Nla Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Ikorodu North LCDA has undergone a major transformation, thanks to WaterAid Nigeria, which spearheaded its renovation and the installation of a 12,000-litre water plant to enhance healthcare service delivery.  The official commissioning and handover ceremony, held on March 25, 2025, also included the presentation of two sets of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) maintenance kits, aimed at promoting hygiene and infection control within the facility. The event, which brought together key stakeholders, highlighted the importance of clean water and sanitation in delivering quality healthcare services.  Dr. Dayo Lajide, Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District II, expressed appreciation for WaterAid Nigeria’s efforts and emphasised the critical role of a clean and safe environment in healthcare. High Influx Of Illegal Pregnant Women Crossing To SA:


The South African National Defense Force (SANDF) are concerned about high number of pregnant women from neighbouring countries crossing illegal into South Africa.The numbers are increasing dramatically of heavy pregnant women crossing our borders illegal to come to South Africa and give birth into South African healthcare facilities.It alleged that this high Influx of pregnant women coming to South Africa ,they want to register their children born in this country to get SASSA grants meant for South Africans.


More and more women from Zimbabwe, Mozambique,Lesotho and Eswatini tried to cross our borders illegal to give birth their children in South Africa.Many have been arrested by the SANDF members on their way to SA without relevant documents.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
