 'How I miraculously escaped from Abuja kidnappers' In a frightening encounter that highlights the growing insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Hajiya Rahmatu Sani, a director at the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), shared her disturbing experience of being kidnapped on Friday, October 21. The incident occurred some minutes after 7 a.m. as she was driving to work, shortly after leaving Esteem Boys’ College in the Lokogoma area of Abuja. Our correspondent learnt that Mrs. Sani, who lives with her husband, Malam Musa Bukar, the Director of Esteem Boys’ College, narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt that not only resulted in her rescue but also led to the liberation of three other women from the kidnappers’ den.  Jonathan Majors reveals engagement to Meagan Good - seven months after domestic assault conviction


Jonathan  Majors reveals he had recently popped the question to girlfriend Meagan Good during their red carpet appearance at the 2024 Ebony Power 100 event at Nya Studios on Sunday.


The 34-year-old Lovecraft Country star, who has praised Good for supporting him through 'so many. nights,' was all smiles as he posed alongside his stunning fiancée, who proudly showed off her sparkling engagement ring, per Ebony.

The couple looked sharp as ever, with Jonathan in a tailored gray suit and Meagan turning heads in a flawless gold, glittering strapless gown.


Majors and Good were first romantically linked in May of last year-just two months after Majors faced legal issues following an arrest for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

The former Marvel actor was later sentenced to attend a 52-week domestic violence intervention program.

Despite his turbulent past, Jonathan and Meagan appeared focused on their future together, radiating joy and excitement on the red carpet.


The star was the recipient of the award - which is given to 'an individual who has shown that no matter what adversity they face, they will continue to aspire to inspire.'

During his speech, he gave a special shoutout to Meagan, while also referencing to his domestic violence conviction to the crowd, per The Hollywood Reporter.

'I reckon folks want to know about the last year. As a Black man in the criminal justice system, I felt anger, I felt sadness, hurt, surprise. When they snatched me up out of my apartment in handcuffs, I didn't feel like all that.'

He continued, 'I didn't feel like Jonathan Majors, Mr Creed, Mr. Kang; I felt like a little scared, weak boy, despite the support and evidence that was in my favor, I knew s**t was bad!'

'And it was bad because of who I was and what I am. This is what happens to Black people all too often.'

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
