A 13-YEAR-OLD BOY LOST HIS LIFE AFTER HE WAS ATTACKED BY THREE LARGE DOGS WHILE RIDING HIS BICYCLE. (PHOTO).

 A 13-year-old boy lost his life after he was attacked by three large dogs while riding his bicycle. This tragic incident occurred January 3rd on the 100 block of Upper Sandy Cove Road in Welshtown, Nova Scotia, Canada.  On that day, 13-year-old Drew Nickerson, was enjoying the day by riding his bike through the neighborhood. As Drew rode his bike down the road, two large Cane Corsos and a Rottweiler came running out into the road from a nearby residence. The three dogs then began to viciously attack Drew. The attack left the young boy bleeding in the roadway and suffering from serious injuries.  Upon discovering Drew severely injured in the roadway, one of the owners of the dogs loaded Drew into their vehicle and rushed him to a nearby hospital.  Drew was then airlifted to a hospital in Halifax, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries on January 5th. LAGOS STATE HAS EMERGED THE OVERALL BEST AT THE 27TH EDITION OF THE NATIONAL JUNIOR ENGINEERS, TECHNICIANS AND SCIENTISTS, JETS COMPETITION IN ABUJA. (PHOTO).


 Lagos State has emerged the overall best  at the 27th Edition of the National Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists, JETS competition in Abuja.


Two hundred students from twenty states participated in this year's competition with the theme “Integrated technologies for sustainable food production and security".


The students showcased their innovations which included an automatic fire detector, an online election application to enable voting from the Diaspora, drone and a technology designed to mitigate farmers and herders clashes in the country.


At the closing ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo described technology and innovation as drivers for socio-economic growth and sustainability.


Dr. Sani-Gwarzo represented by the Director, Technology and Science Education in the Ministry, Dr. Muyibat Olodo encouraged the students to continue to utilize their inherent talents for national development.
