 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University.  NNPCL debunks report on adulterated Petrol


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed a circulating video showing a person pouring a dark liquid, claiming it to be Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) supposedly bought from an NNPC Retail station at the Keffi Flyover.


In a statement by NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, the company clarified that it conducted spot checks at all its outlets and confirmed the claim to be false. 


According to the statement the product was not, and could not have been purchased from any NNPC Retail outlet, as the company does not dispense petroleum products into bottles or jerrycans, as shown in the video.


NNPC Retail Ltd emphasized that it maintained stringent standards and quality control at every stage of its operations to ensure only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products are available at its stations nationwide.


The company urged the public to disregard the misleading claims in the video and to be cautious of individuals spreading such misinformation, as they do not have the country's best interests in mind.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
