 Nigerian Association for Family Development releases communique on 18 biennial conference held in Awka By Chris Chikelue The Nigerian Association For Family Development (NAFAD) has made public the communique made at the 18th Biennial conference  themed: 'Marriage as a Vocation- Flourishing Despite Modern Challenges'. The communique which was issued on March 30, 2025 at the Bishop AK Obiefuna  Retreat and Pastoral Centre, Okpunor, Awka, Anambra State was signed by NAFAD National President, Mr. Uche Okpala and its National Secretary,  Mrs Tayo Akinyede. It was a gathering that brought together couples, relationship experts, and singles to explore practical ways to strengthen marriages and address contemporary relationship challenges.  NNPCL debunks report on adulterated Petrol


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed a circulating video showing a person pouring a dark liquid, claiming it to be Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) supposedly bought from an NNPC Retail station at the Keffi Flyover.


In a statement by NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, the company clarified that it conducted spot checks at all its outlets and confirmed the claim to be false. 


According to the statement the product was not, and could not have been purchased from any NNPC Retail outlet, as the company does not dispense petroleum products into bottles or jerrycans, as shown in the video.


NNPC Retail Ltd emphasized that it maintained stringent standards and quality control at every stage of its operations to ensure only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products are available at its stations nationwide.


The company urged the public to disregard the misleading claims in the video and to be cautious of individuals spreading such misinformation, as they do not have the country's best interests in mind.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
