 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. NPF MOURNS PASSING OF RETIRED AIG NJANGOR EGBE 


The Nigeria Police Force regrets to announce the passing of a distinguished officer, Assistant Inspector General of Police Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who departed this world on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 82.


AIG Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who passed away peacefully in his sleep, was born on March 15, 1942, in Etomi Village, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State. He joined the Nigeria Police Force and rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, earning a reputation for integrity, commitment, and selflessness throughout his career. He was also a one-time commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano. 


Beyond his professional achievements, AIG Njom was a devoted pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church, where he continued to serve diligently even after his retirement. He was a role model and mentor, impacting countless lives with his staunch principles and compassion. AIG Njom lived an exemplary life of service, dedication, and faith.


The Inspector General of Police and the entire Nigeria Police Force extend their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of loss. His legacy as an officer of distinction and a man of faith will remain an enduring source of inspiration.


May his soul rest in perfect peace.
