 LAWMA SEALS PREMISES ON AGO PALACE WAY, ARRESTS 11 DUMPERS ON LAGOS ISLAND … Intensifies Enforcement Against Illegal Waste Disposal In renewed enforcement efforts, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed premises identified for persistent illegal waste dumping along Ago Palace Way and arrested 11 persons for illegal waste disposal in various parts of Lagos Island. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operations underscored the Authority’s resolve to enforce existing waste management regulations and ensure compliance with approved waste disposal practices across Lagos. He explained that the Ago Palace Way operation covered plazas, hotels, lounges and warehouses along the corridor, as part of efforts to tackle activities contributing to waste build-up and environmental nuisance on road setbacks, medians and other unauthorised public spaces. NPF MOURNS PASSING OF RETIRED AIG NJANGOR EGBE 


The Nigeria Police Force regrets to announce the passing of a distinguished officer, Assistant Inspector General of Police Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who departed this world on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 82.


AIG Njangor Egbe Njom (Rtd.), who passed away peacefully in his sleep, was born on March 15, 1942, in Etomi Village, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State. He joined the Nigeria Police Force and rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, earning a reputation for integrity, commitment, and selflessness throughout his career. He was also a one-time commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano. 


Beyond his professional achievements, AIG Njom was a devoted pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church, where he continued to serve diligently even after his retirement. He was a role model and mentor, impacting countless lives with his staunch principles and compassion. AIG Njom lived an exemplary life of service, dedication, and faith.


The Inspector General of Police and the entire Nigeria Police Force extend their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of loss. His legacy as an officer of distinction and a man of faith will remain an enduring source of inspiration.


May his soul rest in perfect peace.
