Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  NPFL Postpones Kano Pillars, Enyimba Clash


The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced the postponement of Kano Pillars match day 14 home clash against Enyimba International of Aba, BSNSports.com.ng reports.


The match, initially slated for Sunday, December 1, 2024, has been postponed to an unconfirmed date due to Enyimba's engagement in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage fixtures.


In a statement issued by the league organizers, the NPFL assured fans of both clubs that a new date and time for the iconic encounter, popularly referred to as the "Zobia Clasico," will be communicated in due course.


In a related development, the Kano Pillars Matchday 13 away fixture against Lobi Stars has been brought forward to Saturday, November 23, 2024. The match will now take place at the Lafia City Stadium, a change necessitated by adjustments to the league calendar.
