 4-month-old Bronx boy dies from cocaine in system, case ruled homicide A 4-month-old Bronx boy died from having cocaine in his system, police said Thursday. Little Ariel Gonzalez’s 34-year-old mother called 911 about 9:10 p.m. Aug. 10 to report the baby was unconscious inside the family’s home on Eagle Ave. near E. 156th St. in the South Bronx. EMS workers rushed the boy to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, but he didn’t make it, police said.  There were no signs of trauma on his body, leaving authorities to wonder what killed him. On Wednesday the city Medical Examiner ruled the infant’s death a homicide after an autopsy revealed he had cocaine in his system. The official cause of death is acute cocaine intoxication, police said. No arrests have been made as cops continue to investigate how the boy was exposed to the drug. “We rely on parents to take care of our child, you know what I’m saying?  Okpebholo Appoints Gani Audu as Chief of Staff


Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Gani Audu as his new Chief of Staff. 


The announcement was made through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, on Friday. The Governor expressed confidence that Audu’s appointment would contribute significantly to driving meaningful reforms in the state.


The statement read, "It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly the good people of Edo State, that Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Gani Audu as his Chief of Staff. The appointment takes immediate effect."


About Gani Audu:


Born on August 18, 1969, Gani Audu holds an HND from Auchi Polytechnic (1994), a PGD in Business Administration from Benson Idahosa University (2011), and an M.Sc. in Intelligence and Global Security from Baze University, Abuja (2024).


Audu has held several key positions, including serving as the Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council from 2004 to 2010, and as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly for Etsako West Constituency 1 from 2015 to 2023. He was also the deputy governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress in the 2020 Edo State Governorship election.
