 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  Tinubu, First Lady leave Brazil after G-20 summit


President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi, have departed Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after attending the 2024 G-20 summit.


The Nigerian presidential jet took off at Galeao Air Force Base, Rio de Janeiro, at about 10:20 am local time.


Nigeria was invited as a guest country for participation at the summit of the 20 biggest economies in world.


Tinubu, at the summit, announced Nigeria’s commitment to the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, launched by the G-20.


The President also had some bilateral meetings and signed the letter of intent for partnership with three Brazilian companies to facilitate development of Nigeria’s livestock sector.
