 Popular Awka MC And Comedian Aiza Nwosu Shot Dead Popular Awka-born master of ceremonies, comedian and griot, Aiza Nwosu, was reportedly shot dead today, Sunday, 30th August 2026, in Awka, Anambra State. Unconfirmed reports circulating online allege that his killing may be connected to a lingering land-related dispute. This remains unverified, however, and it is now left for the relevant security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. The tragic news has shocked many, particularly within Awka and the entertainment community. It also raises renewed concerns about violent killings in Awka and the urgent need to address insecurity in the area. Aiza had been active in the entertainment industry for many years and was a friend and colleague to many. He was also known for mentoring younger entertainers and contributing to the growth of the local entertainment scene.  Tinubu, First Lady leave Brazil after G-20 summit


President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi, have departed Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after attending the 2024 G-20 summit.


The Nigerian presidential jet took off at Galeao Air Force Base, Rio de Janeiro, at about 10:20 am local time.


Nigeria was invited as a guest country for participation at the summit of the 20 biggest economies in world.


Tinubu, at the summit, announced Nigeria’s commitment to the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, launched by the G-20.


The President also had some bilateral meetings and signed the letter of intent for partnership with three Brazilian companies to facilitate development of Nigeria’s livestock sector.
