 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  Viral video: Army to investigate brutalisation of Nigerian by soldiers


The Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede has ordered an investigation into the alleged Brutalization of a Nigerian following an argument between him, an officer, and two soldiers which was captured in a viral video


Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement on Tuesday.


He said, “The attention of the Nigerian Army (NA) has been drawn to a viral audio-visual recording circulating on social media platforms, purportedly showing a senior Army officer and 2 other soldiers in an altercation with a man and woman within the Abuja metropolis.


“The circumstances leading to this incident are not clear at the moment.


“However, the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has ordered an immediate investigation to unravel the true circumstances surrounding this altercation.


“The NA remains committed to serving and protecting all law-abiding Nigerians as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


“Therefore, we urge the public to be rest assured that due diligence will be applied to reach a logical conclusion on this matter.”
