 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. 21-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS BEATEN TO DEATH AFTER BEING CAUGHT WITH ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE AT A HOUSE IN DELHI. (PHOTO).

 A 21-year-old man, identified as Ritik Verma, was beaten to death after being caught with another man’s wife at a house in Delhi’s Shastri Park area on Monday. The incident occurred around 11 am when the woman’s husband discovered Ritik and his wife in a compromising situation, police said.


According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Rakesh Paweriya, the enraged husband brutally assaulted both Ritik and his wife. Witnesses and family members claim the violence was severe. Bunty, Ritik’s uncle, alleged that the attackers tortured Ritik, tore his nails, and inflicted injuries all over his body. A neighbour confirmed that more than one person was involved in the assault.


Ritik, who drove a tempo and was the only son of his parents, was taken to a hospital by his relatives. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment at around 9 pm. The woman involved was also assaulted during the incident, the neighbour added.


The police are investigating the case further to determine the exact sequence of events and identify everyone involved in the attack. The incident has shocked the local community, raising concerns about rising violence in personal disputes.
