 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings.  Abia Assembly lawmaker says Speaker not facing impeachment


The member representing Isuikwuato Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Lucky Johnson, has dismissed rumours that Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Emmanuel Emeruwa is to be impeached.


Johnson, who reacted to some social media reports about the fate of the Speaker, described the claims as unfounded lies aimed at misleading the public.


Speaking to newsmen in Umuahia on Wednesday, Johnson, who is a member of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, maintained that the claims that Emeruwa faced a potential impeachment following a purported face-off with Governor Alex Otti were baseless.


“Let it be categorically stated that there is no plan to impeach the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa,” Johnson declared.


The lawmaker further urged Abians to disregard the misinformation and focus on issues that promote unity and development in the state, even as he said that a harmonious relationship exists between the Speaker and other members.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
