 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. AN 11-YEAR-OLD ALBANY, NY GIRL PASSED AWAY DAYS AFTER PLUNGING THROUGH AN ICY POND WHILE TRYING TO SAVE A 12-YEAR-OLD BOY. (PHOTO).

 An 11-year-old Albany, NY girl passes away days after plunging through an icy pond while trying to save a 12-year-old boy.


She passed away last night.


Sadly both children have perished after a heartbreaking incident at Washington Park Lake in Albany. Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday December 7th to the report of 2 children that had fallen through the ice.


Once on scene, police were able to extract the 11-year-old girl from the icy waters and rush her to the hospital.  The 12-year-old boy was recovered, unfortunately deceased, from the lake at approximately 7:30 p.m. Police believe that the boy had been trying to walk across the ice when he tragically fell through. After seeing the boy fall through, the young heroic girl risked her own life trying to save him. Unfortunately, she too fell through the ice.


Officials in Albany announced Tuesday evening that the brave young girl has passed away. 


Both children attended middle school in the Alabany City School District, however no names have been made public at this point.


Our hearts go out to the family and friends of these two young children who lost their lives much too soon.
