 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. AN 11-YEAR-OLD ALBANY, NY GIRL PASSED AWAY DAYS AFTER PLUNGING THROUGH AN ICY POND WHILE TRYING TO SAVE A 12-YEAR-OLD BOY. (PHOTO).

 An 11-year-old Albany, NY girl passes away days after plunging through an icy pond while trying to save a 12-year-old boy.


She passed away last night.


Sadly both children have perished after a heartbreaking incident at Washington Park Lake in Albany. Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday December 7th to the report of 2 children that had fallen through the ice.


Once on scene, police were able to extract the 11-year-old girl from the icy waters and rush her to the hospital.  The 12-year-old boy was recovered, unfortunately deceased, from the lake at approximately 7:30 p.m. Police believe that the boy had been trying to walk across the ice when he tragically fell through. After seeing the boy fall through, the young heroic girl risked her own life trying to save him. Unfortunately, she too fell through the ice.


Officials in Albany announced Tuesday evening that the brave young girl has passed away. 


Both children attended middle school in the Alabany City School District, however no names have been made public at this point.


Our hearts go out to the family and friends of these two young children who lost their lives much too soon.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
