McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace. AN 11-YEAR-OLD ALBANY, NY GIRL PASSED AWAY DAYS AFTER PLUNGING THROUGH AN ICY POND WHILE TRYING TO SAVE A 12-YEAR-OLD BOY. (PHOTO).

 An 11-year-old Albany, NY girl passes away days after plunging through an icy pond while trying to save a 12-year-old boy.


She passed away last night.


Sadly both children have perished after a heartbreaking incident at Washington Park Lake in Albany. Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday December 7th to the report of 2 children that had fallen through the ice.


Once on scene, police were able to extract the 11-year-old girl from the icy waters and rush her to the hospital.  The 12-year-old boy was recovered, unfortunately deceased, from the lake at approximately 7:30 p.m. Police believe that the boy had been trying to walk across the ice when he tragically fell through. After seeing the boy fall through, the young heroic girl risked her own life trying to save him. Unfortunately, she too fell through the ice.


Officials in Albany announced Tuesday evening that the brave young girl has passed away. 


Both children attended middle school in the Alabany City School District, however no names have been made public at this point.


Our hearts go out to the family and friends of these two young children who lost their lives much too soon.
