 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARROWHEAD BEHIND THUGGERY ESCALATION IN KOFAR MATA QUARTERS KANO


On December 24, 2024, at approximately 8:40 pm, a team of Policemen deployed at Kofar Mata/Zango junction near Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano, arrested one Kabiru Jamilu, 21 years old, popularly known as 'Awu', a resident of Zango Quarters Kano. The suspect was identified as the mastermind behind the resurgence of Daba fighting between Kofar Mata and Zango youths.


Key Findings:


- Kabiru Jamilu confessed to spearheading the fighting during preliminary investigations.

- Further investigations led to the arrest of Umar Garba, 32, a resident of Zango Quarters Kano, who was found in possession of a sharp long knife.

- Both suspects have been transferred to the Command's Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


Call to Action:


The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, urges residents of Kofar Mata and Zango Quarters to cooperate with the Police by providing information to completely address the situation.
