LagFerry Boat Catches Fire on Lagos Waterways, Passengers Injured A LagFerry boat, Igbega Eko, caught fire while en route to Victoria Island, injuring four passengers. The incident occurred at around 6:45 AM at Ipakodo Ferry Terminal, Ikorodu. Passengers scrambled for safety as the boat suddenly exploded and caught fire. The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) responded swiftly. LASWA confirmed that the fire was quickly contained, with four passengers sustaining minor injuries and receiving medical attention. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. LASWA assured the public that safety measures are in place, and ferry operations continue as scheduled. Watch video below.

  ASUU Declares Indefinite Strike at Bayelsaā€™s Niger Delta University


The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Niger Delta University, owned by the Bayelsa State Government, has announced an indefinite strike. This decision comes after the governmentā€™s alleged failure to honor agreements made with the union.


The strike was declared on Tuesday following a meeting at the union's secretariat in Amassoma.
