 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU RECONSTITUTES NNPC LIMITED BOARD, APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN, GROUP CEO President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a sweeping reconstitution of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited board, removing the chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure and the group chief executive officer, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari.   President Tinubu removed all other board members appointed with Akinyelure and Kyari in November 2023.   The new 11-man board has Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the Group CEO and Ahmadu Musa Kida as non-executive chairman.   Adedapo Segun, who replaced Umaru Isa Ajiya as the chief financial officer last November, has been appointed to the new board by President Tinubu.   Six board members, non-executive directors, represent the country's geopolitical zones.  BENUE GOVT TAKES OVER A SET OF TWINS DELIVERED BY MENTALLY ILL MOTHER

Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, the Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), has launched a compassionate initiative to assist a woman who recently gave birth to a set of twins on the Ipav (Gboko) k/Ala road.


Comrade Asortar James Asortar, SA to the State Governor on Social Media disclosed this in a statement.


He said: “Recognizing the urgent need for medical attention and support, Dr. Hwande has directed that the mother and her newborns be brought to BSUTH for comprehensive care.


“This initiative underscores Dr. Hwande’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian services and the welfare of the community.


“The hospital is prepared to provide the necessary medical assistance and support to ensure the well-being of both the mother and her infants during this critical time.”.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
