 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways.  Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade Under Investigation for Alleged Role in Staged Racist Attack to Win Election


Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade is under investigation following allegations that he was involved in a staged hate crime during his mayoral campaign. Derrick Bernard, who orchestrated the hoax, allegedly communicated with Mobolade about the attack, which included vandalizing a campaign sign and setting a cross on fire. 


While Mobolade initially denied contact with Bernard, he later stated he couldn’t recall the details. Despite the Department of Justice declining to prosecute, local officials and critics are calling for transparency, with growing concerns about Mobolade’s role and the DOJ’s handling of the case.
