 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless.  Defection: ‘PDP almost killed my ambitions’ – Ibori’s daughter


The daughter of former Delta State governor, James Ibori, and representative of Ethiope Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, has described her defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the best decision of her political career.


This is as Ibori-Suenu accused the PDP of attempting to stifle her political aspirations.


She also expressed gratitude to her supporters and APC leaders for their encouragement.


“We will bury PDP in Ologbo River, the bridge between Delta and Edo states. I am already at home – APC is supreme.


“The people in PDP wanted to kill my political aspirations, but thank God, I have finally left,” she said.


Ibori-Suenu recently defected from the PDP to the APC.


The immediate past Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege,

hailed Ibori-Suenu’s defection, describing her as a political bulldozer.


Omo-Agege expressed confidence that her move, along with the support of other APC members, would help the party secure Delta State in the 2027 elections.


“With Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu’s support, the APC is better positioned to take over Delta.


“Her energy and dedication will greatly strengthen our chances,” Omo-Agege said.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
