 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

 Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu Welcomes Over 3,000 Defectors to APC in Abia


Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, welcomed more than 3,000 new members from various political parties to the APC during an empowerment program in Akwete, Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.  


Kalu highlighted the defection as a testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to Ndigbo, particularly through the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC). Among the defectors was former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Stanley.  


Kalu, recently honored with the chieftaincy title “Enyioha of Ukwa Kingdom,” urged continued support for Tinubu’s administration, promising more democratic dividends for Igbo communities.
