 FIRST IMPORTED EBOLA CASE: NIGERIA EVACUATES INDEX CASE TO SWITZERLAND AS CONTAINMENT MEASURES CONTINUE The Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola index case has been medically evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland, following approval by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. The forty-two-year-old patient, whose case marked Nigeria’s first imported Ebola virus disease case, was transferred alongside her spouse, who has remained asymptomatic. In a statement posted on his X handle, Professor Pate said the patient was clinically much improved, stable, conscious and able to communicate, with laboratory test results approaching baseline levels. However, the Minister cautioned that the patient’s clinical improvement does not necessarily mean she is no longer infectious, stressing that strict public health protocols remain in place.   FG Announces Free Train Rides for Nigerians from Dec 20 to Jan 5


The Federal Government has declared free train rides for Nigerians wishing to travel during the Christmas season.


Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the announcement on Monday following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.


He stated that the free train services will be available from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.


Idris added that Nigerians can enjoy the free rides on all routes where train services are currently operating.
