 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. FISHERMAN BRUTALLY MURDERED IN FRONT OF FAMILY AT TUBATSE DAM. (PHOTO).

 A horrific attack at Tubatse dam in Steelpoort has left a 41-year-old fisherman, John Peter Grobler, dead.


Grobler was fishing with his father-in-law and two sons, aged 9 and 13, when six unknown African males armed with assegais and golf sticks ambushed them. Despite being stabbed and hit with golf sticks, Grobler managed to retrieve his firearm from his vehicle and fire a shot, causing the assailants to flee. He later succumbed to his injuries.


The police are now searching for the six suspects, and Detective Sergeant Montle Mahlatse of Burgerfort Detective Services is urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for increased safety measures and vigilance.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
