 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence.  Governor Namadi Presents 2025 Budget to Jigawa Assembly


On Friday, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State presented the state’s 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly in Dutse, the state capital.


The proposed budget emphasizes key sectors, including agricultural development, infrastructure, and economic empowerment. During the presentation, Governor Namadi outlined the fiscal strategies, priorities, and resource allocations for the upcoming year.


He highlighted his administration's commitment to industrialization, noting its potential to create jobs, boost income generation, increase internally generated revenue, and foster overall development and prosperity.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
