Gov Uba Sani Attends Southern Kaduna Festival, Hails Residents For Peaceful Coexistence, Highlights Development Projects

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has lauded the residents of Southern Kaduna for fostering peace in the region, which he described as a critical enabler of development.

The governor made these remarks during the 2nd edition of the Southern Kaduna Festival held in Kafanchan on Saturday.

“I want to express my gratitude to the people of Zone 3 for reciprocating our efforts to bring development to the area by ensuring that peace prevails,” Sani stated. “This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development.”

He further highlighted the significance of cultural heritage in shaping societal values and fostering progress. “Our cultural heritage is the foundation upon which we build our progress, and it is our responsibility to preserve it for future generations,” he said.

The governor outlined several transformative initiatives his administration has implemented in the past 18 months. These include infrastructure development, agricultural support, education, youth empowerment, and healthcare improvements.

Sani noted significant strides in road construction, citing projects such as the 22.5km Gwantu-Godogodo Road and the 21.95km Madauchi-Kafanchan Road.

“We are committed to the massive transformation of rural communities, recognising the immense potential that lies within them. By empowering these communities, we unlock the secrets to sustainable development, economic growth, and social prosperity,” he remarked.

The governor also highlighted the installation of 200 All-in-One Solar Street Lights across various local governments in Zone 3, which he said have enhanced safety and improved nighttime visibility in the region.

In a major healthcare initiative, Sani announced plans to upgrade the Sir Patrick Yakowa General Hospital in Kafanchan to a Federal Medical Centre. This upgrade aims to improve healthcare accessibility, strengthen tertiary healthcare delivery, and provide opportunities for advanced medical training and research.

“This facility will cater to the diverse population across several Local Government Areas and neighbouring states, including Plateau, Niger, and the Federal Capital Territory,” the governor explained.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and equitable development for all residents of Kaduna State.

The festival drew high-profile attendees, including Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri. Both commended Governor Sani for his dedication to peace and development in Southern Kaduna.

The event showcased the region’s rich cultural heritage, underscoring the importance of unity and collaboration in driving progress.
