 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail.  GOVERNOR  UZODIMMA SIGNS IMO STATE 2025 APPROPRIATION BILL INTO LAW 


Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has signed into law the Imo State 2025 Appropriation Bill, which was raised from N755B to N807B, marking the official commencement of the state’s fiscal year. The bill, which underwent rigorous scrutiny and consideration by the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA), sets the foundation for the government’s projections and developmental goals for the upcoming year.


Governor Uzodimma expressed optimism about the budget’s full and proper execution, pledging that its implementation would be guided by accountability, transparency, and a focus on impactful outcomes that benefit the people of Imo State.


In his address, the governor extended heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Members of the Assembly for their commitment and diligence in ensuring the budget reflects the interests and aspirations of the state’s citizens.


"This budget is a testament to our shared vision for Imo State's development. Together, we will achieve meaningful progress for ndi Imo," Governor Uzodimma stated.


The signing of the Appropriation Bill signifies a unified commitment between the executive and legislative arms of government to drive sustainable growth and development across the state in 2025.
