 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. GUNMEN ABDUCT ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT IN BENUE

The President-General Kunav United Development Association (KUDA), the umbrella organisation of the Kunav people from Vandeikya Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State, Deacon Tor Emmanuel Yaji has been reportedly abducted.


Our correspondent gathered that Deacon Yaji was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at his hometown, Tsar Mbaduku, Vandeikya LGA of the State


The incident, according to sources from the area, took place at about 9 to 10pm Monday, December 30, 2024.p


The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the incident.


The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Catherine Anene, in a statement made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Tuesday, explained that “On 30/12/2024 at about 2030hrs, information was received at Vandeikya Police Division that Mr. Emmanuel Tor Yaji of Tsar Mbaduku was kidnaped at Tsar where he sat relaxing with his friends.


She said “Swiftly police detectives were deployed for his rescue and investigation is on going.”


Anene appealed to the general public to assist the command with every useful information that can lead to his rescue.


She pledged to communicate further information about the operation as the investigation progresses.
