Kalu: Abia Airport: Tinubu Committed to South-East Development

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deliberately focusing on the development of the Southeast, especially Abia State.

Kalu shared this insight during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Abia airport in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State on Tuesday.

Expressing his gratitude to the President for approving the project, Kalu also highlighted the Southeast Development Commission (SEDC) as another significant initiative that reflects President Tinubu's commitment to the region.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu assured Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, of the Parliament’s support in ensuring the swift completion of the airport project through adequate budgetary allocations.

Kalu, who represents Bende’s federal constituency, played a key role in securing the project. He facilitated the delivery of the project letter from federal authorities to the Governor, ensuring his support for the crucial infrastructure.

He emphasized, “I want to assure you that the President we have today is focused and intentional about the development of the Southeast. He is committed to the region. We thank Mr. President for prioritizing Abia State. When the letter arrived, I immediately contacted Hon. Ginger and asked him to take it directly to Governor Otti. We will continue to seek ways to advance Abia State’s development.”

Kalu further assured Governor Otti, "We will work with you to complete any projects initiated in collaboration with you. Let’s all come together to build Abia."
