 ZIMBABWEAN COUPLE DEPORTED OVER SECRET BURIAL OF CHILD IN BOTSWANA A Zimbabwean couple has been deported from Botswana after secretly burying their child without notifying authorities. Motilinah Mpofu and Christopher Ncube were convicted on Thursday of concealing a death after they allegedly dug a grave for their child in the dead of night. The Gaborone court heard the child had died suddenly. Instead of reporting the death to police, health officials, or traditional leaders, the couple quietly buried the youngster and hoped no one would find out. But the secret did not stay buried for long.   Police moved in and arrested the pair. KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND RECOVERS AND RETURNS STOLEN TRICYCLES TO OWNERS


The Kano State Police Command has successfully recovered two tricycles stolen by suspected thieves. The recovery was made possible through a well-coordinated intelligence-led raid on criminal hideouts in Dambatta LGA, Kano State, on December 9, 2024.


2.  Recovery and Return of Tricycles:


The owners of the two tricycles appeared at the Command's Headquarters and proved ownership. The first tricycle, with registration number KGM 246VC, was stolen after the suspects drugged the tricycle rider, Mamman Musa. The victim received medical treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano and was later discharged.


3.  The second tricycle, with registration number KMC 319 VK, was also stolen using the same modus operandi. The owner, Sani Ismail, appeared at the Command's Headquarters and proved ownership.


4.  Prosecution of Suspects:


The two suspects, Ado Yusuf (40) and Rabi'u Suleiman (35), were found in possession of the tricycles and have been charged to Magistrate Court No. 45 Gyadi Gyadi Kano for prosecution.


5.  Warning to Tricycle Operators:


The State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, cautions tricycle operators to be cautious of passengers and avoid conveying suspected people to isolated places.
