McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace.  LASG ANNOUNCES  COMMISSIONING OF FIVE ROADS NETWORK, BRIDGE PROJECTS 


The Lagos State Government has announced its readiness to formally commission the Babafemi Dada with Bridge, Yinka Folarin - Jamiu Lawal - Shalom Academy Road Network in Alimosho Local Government Area on Monday, 16th December 2024.    


The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso disclosed this while speaking to the press on Saturday at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. 


His words, "It is important to mention that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu prioritised the completion of new and ongoing projects despite the global economic meltdown and spiralling inflation”.


He said the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration has completed and has earmarked for commissioning 36 Roads, five Bridges and a pedestrian Bridge to Lagosians.


According to him, “The State government, as part of efforts to create sustainable communities, improve connectivity and provide effective by-pass to areas of traffic gridlocks, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Administration has completed the Babafemi Dada With Bridge Projects, in Alimosho LGA, and the project will be commissioned by Mr. Governor on Monday".


Omotoso said Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat thought it through to provide not only a reinforced concrete bridge but also the approach roads connecting Igando and Ayobo communities. 


The Babafemi Dada with Bridge -Yinka Folarin-Jamiu Lawal-Shalom Academy Road Network in Alimosho Local Government Area is a 1.57Km long semi-rigid pavement road with a 250m Deck on Pile Bridge will provide a shorter route for motorists connecting LASU-IBA road (Idowu Egba bus stop) with Candos road (Academy bus stop) in Baruwa community.
