 Thugs Break Into Mortuary in Nzhelele, allegedly stole equipment An elderly security guard was brutally attacked during a break-in at Luvhani Mortuary in Nzhelele, Limpopo, on Friday. According to reports, unknown suspects assaulted the guard with a pick handle and an axe. He sustained serious injuries to his head and legs and was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. The suspects allegedly stole equipment from the mortuary before fleeing the scene. Police have opened a case and are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify and arrest the suspects.

 Lawmaker Advocates for Increased Womenā€™s Participation in Governance


Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, has called for greater womenā€™s participation in governance across Nigeria. During a courtesy visit by the first female Chairman of the FCT Council, Grace Ike, Salam emphasized the need for more inclusivity, citing countries like Rwanda and Kenya, where women make up significant portions of parliament. 


He stressed that leadership should not be based on gender but on merit and capability. Salam also pledged his support to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and emphasized collaboration in promoting transparency and accountability. Grace Ike reaffirmed the NUJ's commitment to supporting the Public Accounts Committee's efforts in good governance.
