Donald Trump appointed Mark Burnett, the British television executive known for producing The Apprentice, as his special envoy to the United Kingdom, a role distinct from the US ambassador position. In this capacity, Burnett will focus on strengthening US-UK relations, with an emphasis on trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Trump praised Burnett’s vast experience in television production, noting his international recognition and strategic business acumen, which he believes will contribute to advancing diplomatic ties between the two nations.
