PARENTS ARRESTED AFTER THEIR 3-YEAR-OLD WAS FOUND COLD AND CRYING ON THE ROOF OF THEIR HOME.(PHOTOS)

 Parents arrested after their 3-year-old was found cold and crying on the roof of their home. At 11:45 a.m. on April 10th, officers in Glenville, West Virginia responded to a local home. Once on scene, officers observed a small child who was in distress on the roof of the home. According to responding officers, the child was "hunched over from the cold rain, crying and scared". The officers on scene made entry into the home, and after unlocking several doors and smashing a window, were able to rescue the child from the roof.  The child  was determined to be a 3-year-old boy. While inside of the home, officers also discovered another young boy. The second child was in a crib inside of a locked room... Officers reported both children were "covered in feces from the waist down". They also stated there was fecal matter caked on the walls and appeared to have been that way for a long time.  NLC Akwa Ibom Calls Off Strike After Gov Eno Approves N80,000 New Wage Agreement


The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Akwa Ibom State has canceled its planned strike after Governor Umo Eno signed a new minimum wage agreement with organized labor, ahead of the set deadline.


NLC Akwa Ibom Chairman, Sunny James, made the announcement in Uyo on Wednesday, revealing that the state government has agreed to implement a new minimum wage of ₦80,000, effective from November 1, 2024. Additionally, the monthly pension for retirees has been increased by ₦32,000.


James stated, “Following the signing of the new Minimum Wage Agreement on December 3, 2024, between the Akwa Ibom government and organized labor, workers are informed that the new wage of ₦80,000 will be paid as directed by Governor Eno.”


He further clarified that since November 2024 salaries have already been paid, any outstanding arrears will be cleared by the end of February 2025, with December 2024 salaries reflecting the new wage. The agreement also ensures that retirees will benefit from the improved package, in line with a directive from the National Salaries, Income, and Wages Commission issued on September 27.


The NLC expressed appreciation for Governor Eno’s prompt response, adding that workers are committed to boosting productivity and service delivery in return. As a result, the indefinite strike initially scheduled for December 4, 2024, has been called off, and workers are instructed to resume work immediately.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha.
