 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  Police Officer allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend on Christmas Day in Johannesburg.


A police officer is wanted for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, Chesnay Patricia Keppler, on Christmas Day in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg.


Officer Mandla Goodman Buthelezi is accused of shooting Keppler, a 22-year-old Crime Prevention Warden, multiple times through the kitchen window after an altercation.


Buthelezi had allegedly arrived at Keppler’s residence, where she was with her friends and mother, and attempted to force her into a state vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.


After being overpowered by Keppler and her friend, Buthelezi retrieved his firearm from the vehicle and committed the crime before fleeing the scene.
