 NIGERIAN FILM "MY FATHER’S SHADOW" MAKES HISTORY, SET TO PREMIERE AT Y2025 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL  . . . "This is a proud moment for Lagos and Nigeria" - Sanwo-Olu The Nigerian film industry has scored a major international milestone as "My Father’s Shadow", a powerful drama rooted in the country's political and cultural history, is set to premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival this May. Written by Wale Davies and Directed and co-written by Akinola Davies Jr., "My Father’s Shadow" is a collaborative production between Nigerian producer Funmbi Ogunbanwo of Fatherland Productions and UK-based producer Rachel Dargavel of Element Pictures. The film, shot in Lagos and Ibadan, explores the emotional aftermath of the 1993 presidential election and its impact on a father-son relationship.  Proclaimed death on our Actor is madness and it must stop – Rita Edochie fumes as she reacts to death rumors about Osita Iheme ‘Pawpaw’


Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has reacted to a trending death news about her colleague, Osita Iheme popularly known as Pawpaw.


In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, she revealed that she had seen death news about the actor almost twice, and surprisingly, many netizens believed the fake gust and were mourning him in comment sections.


Rita stated that the constant death news about actors is getting out of control as she noted how such news was made about her, and a photo of her on a movie set was used to spread the news. 


The sister-in-law of veteran Pete Edochie stated that social media has done more harm than good to society, even though it has also been a constant source of enriching most Nigerian youths.


Calling such behavior madness, Rita stated that one doesn’t need to grow pages through death wishes on innocent people.
