 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Shettima Muhammad Takes Over as Nasarawa Police Commissioner  


Shettima Jauro Muhammad has assumed office as the 29th Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, succeeding AIG Shehu Umar Nadada, who was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police.  


Official Announcement  

The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.  


Profile and Experience  

-  Background:

  CP Muhammad hails from Mubi North Local Government Area, Adamawa State, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education from the University of Maiduguri.  

-  Police Career:

  Joining the Nigeria Police Force in May 1992 as a Cadet ASP, Muhammad has served in numerous capacities, including:  

  - Acting Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State.  

  - Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State CID in Lafia.  

  - Deputy Commissioner of Operations in Zone 8 Lokoja and Gombe State Command.  


Call for Public Support  

In his inaugural address, CP Muhammad urged Nasarawa residents to support the police by providing actionable intelligence to aid in crime prevention and resolution.  


The new commissioner brings extensive experience and leadership to his role, promising continued efforts to enhance security in the state.
