South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has been banned from leaving the country following a tumultuous week that saw him impose martial law, triggering widespread protests and a failed impeachment motion.

The Justice Ministry confirmed the unprecedented travel ban on Yoon, along with several of his allies involved in the controversial events, including former ministers and military officials.
